At The Fount Bar in Selfridges

Today, I visited The Fount Bar inside Selfridges, located within the newer section, which opens into Duke Street. It was a lovely 😊, truly nice place. I was wowed as it was totally different from the ambiance of other Bars and eating places within Selfridges. I know because I have been to all the other Bars and Restaurants, on other floors. I had an exotic Herbal Tea, which is listed in their menu as, The Daily Fortitude. It was made with lovely tea leaves from Poland, and a small piece each of fresh orange and grapefruit plus a few pieces of fresh strawberries. The idea is that, the tea is made with hot water in a dainty see through teapot and the pieces of fresh  fruits are put into a glass, see through mug. You then have a choice of ice cubes added to the pieces of fresh fruits or just the pieces of fresh fruits are left in the mug. The choice is yours and all you have to do is, let the tea brew and you pour it into the glass mug containing the pieces of fresh fruits. You end up with either cold fresh fruits infused tea or hot fresh fruits infused tea. As I love cold drinks, I opted for the ice cubes version. I then asked for their Veg Platter. That title is deceptive as I did get a platter, but I got Crudités and Croutons plus 3 different Dips! Hummus mixed with Beetroot, Spiced Red Pepper and Tapenade! It all looked so lovely and they were all delicious  🤤 and mouth licking 😋. I hope to return there soon as they had other varieties of teas, and platters. I will have a different one each time I go. Today, I behaved like a tourist to London. And you know what, I enjoyed myself. I went to Piccadilly Circus and walked to the LEGO STORE at Leicester Square. That was my destination as I wanted to buy a gift for a very dear friend’s grandson’s birthday. I love giving my own grandchildren and great-grandchild LEGO as I am fascinated by LEGO BRICKS. I have a Classic 4-99 years old box of LEGO Bricks. I build various items when I am bored and when I do not want to do anymore crosswords or Word Search. Building LEGO challenges the brain as well as crosswords or word search. On my way to the LEGO STORE, I stopped just as I got to Swiss Court and asked a passer-by to please take a photo of me. After that, as I was now opposite the M & M Store, I had another photo taken of me standing right in front. I then had my photo taken of me in front of the LEGO store. GallivantingOAP@the 2019 London Marathon

I am hoping to keep this Blog going daily, almost daily or a few times a week. I am out and on th ego daily but I just may not be able to keep it up daily. I live in Central London, and I do tend to gallivant around this great, lovely, historical and wonderful City of London. I belong to several charities and organisations and volunteer a lot in various ways. I am retired, a widow and in my 70s. I have 6 adult grown up children, all married, left home, scattered around the world, plus several grandchildren and a great grandchild for now. No more grandchildren as they have all been born. I am fondly called Mamina by many, including some of my children, their spouses and even some of the grandchildren. My other grandchildren call me Nana.
